Hascall & Hall has been in the masonry contractor business since 1948, restoring some of New England’s finest and most historical buildings. With more than 200 years of combined masonry experience, we know how to do masonry work—breathing new life into damaged masonry and restoring a brick masonry or stone masonry building to its halcyon days.
Applying time-honored principles and leading-edge technologies, Hascall & Hall replaces old, decayed mortar and brick with the wisdom to not over-build the repair. Hascall & Hall experts know which masonry products to use to best match existing materials both in color and strength. Stronger is not necessarily better when it comes to restoring old masonry—stronger can sometimes even accelerate deterioration.
Hascall & Hall also understands what a tremendous concern waterproofing can be for owners in the Northeast, but also aware of the need for masonry buildings to maintain breathability. Hascall & Hall experts know how to apply the most up-to-date technologies to achieve both these qualities in the correct measure. Whether it’s installing new through-wall flashing or clear penetrating sealers, Hascall & Hall selects the right product for the job every time.
Stone restoration is another of Hascall & Hall’s core competencies. Even though it is not nearly as common a material as brick work or blocks, a longstanding stonework tradition exists here in New England. The history of masonry is alive and well here in the Northeast, and over the past 60 years Hascall & Hall has become highly proficient in the restoration of old granite staircases, buildings and landscaping features, as well as the repair of aging limestone, sandstone, and brownstone buildings. Hascall & Hall can take deteriorated stones, and using new-age materials, rebuild to original sizes and shapes.
Resetting old granite stones is art form in and of itself, and not every contractor can bring that artisanry to bear. Hascall & Hall has acquired significant masonry work experience over six decades including granite steps, pillars, arches, retaining walls and much more. Hascall & Hall experts take time to research and rebuild to the original specifications – planning, cataloging and storing materials accordingly. The end result is a work of art that’s built to last.

Over the years, I have always received prompt and complete service. Rob has always taken the time to explain all the issues around the job to be done and the work has been completed within the estimated time and dollar amount. I will continue to use Hascall & Hall for all my waterproofing and masonry needs in all of my commercial buildings and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
It gives me great pleasure to look at the beautiful restoration work done by Hascall & Hall at the former Augusta City Hall, now the Inn at City Hall. You and your talented craftsmen have added new life to a building that had suffered from lack of maintenance funds for an extended period of time. Thank you for not only doing a wonderful craftsman-like job, but also for being on budget and on time.
Thank you for the outstanding job you did in masonry repair on the buildings of our condominium. The foreman demonstrated not only excellent workmanship but also a sense of artistry – for example he mixed subtly different color bricks on one chimney restoration to achieve a better color match with the surrounding bricks. In short, we thank Hascall & Hall for their excellent work.
Hascall & Hall recently renovated and refinished our service shop floor in the Nissan building in Auburn. They went out of their way to accommodate our unrealistic demands to get this floor done extremely quickly and at a very competitive price. The cooperation, communication, professionalism, and overall results exceeded our expectations. We would recommend them to any business.
The crew at Hascall & Hall did a terrific job restoring the two chimneys at White Columns at the Kennebunkport Historical Society in Maine. They were friendly, efficient and sensitive to our tourists. We were able to keep White Columns opened during this construction process. In a nutshell, the project was a complete success from start to finish!
